Sally A. Durant, 79 of Zanesville, died 7:23 PM, Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at Genesis Morrison House Hospice following a sudden illness. She was born Saturday, May 30, 1942, in Portsmouth, the daughter of Walter & Marie Barker. She married Charles W. Durant, Sr. on Saturday, August 10, 1963, and was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church. Sally was a graduate of the Good Samaritan School of Nursing and practiced nursing in various places such as hospitals, nursing homes and public health. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who greatly enjoyed the time she spent with her family. Sally is survived by her husband: Charles Durant; one daughter: Beth Durant-Dollings; one son: John (Cathy) Durant; a daughter-in-law: Tammy Durant; a son-in-law: Dannie Decker; nine grandchildren: Jeanette (Joey) O’Gara, Justin Tanner, Zachary (Janelle) Durant, Michael Durant, Allison (Steven) Welch, Sydney Durant, Jacob Durant, Drew Dollings, Emma Dollings; two great grandchildren: Charlotte & Weston O’Gara; several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Sally was preceded in death by a daughter: Kathleen Decker; one son: Charles William “Bill” Durant, Jr.; a son-in-law: Matthew “Matt” Dollings and her mother and father-in-law: Jake & Virginia Durant Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, Friday, October 29, 2021, at the Hillis, Combs & Nestor Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, where a Christian Vigil will be held at 6:45 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 AM, Saturday, October 30, 2021, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 955 East Main Street, Zanesville, with Fr. Martin J. Ralko as celebrant.
