Ronald "Ron" D. Walker

January 4, 1945 - April 15, 2022

Ronald "Ron" D. Walker, 77 of Zanesville, died 8:30 PM, Saturday, April 9, 2022, at Adams Lane Care Center. He was born Thursday, January 4, 1945, in Canton, the son of James E. Walker and Recie Isabell (Ayers) Walker. He married Mary Ann (Raymond) Walker on Sunday, April 8, 1984, and was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church. Ron served his country as a veteran of the United States Army serving in Vietnam. He was a Life Member of the American Legion Post 29, a Life Member of Disabled American Veterans and a member of the Grand Lodge Free & Accepted Masons of Ohio. Ron was a volunteer with Good Samaritan Medical center for many years. He was a member of AA, and very involved in their activities and meetings. Ron was a great mechanic, and loved working on cars. He especially loved working on lawn mowers and small engines. All of his friends and neighbors could count on him to fix their mowers. Ron was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle who enjoyed the time he spent with his family and friends. Ron is survived by his wife: Mary Ann Walker; three children: Kimberly (Joseph) Baggs, Carl (Sandy) Walker and Sarah (Jessee) Aurant; grandchildren: Kayla Baggs, Joseph Baggs, Jr., Drew Walker, Colton Aurant, Emma Aurant and Liberty Aurant; four great grandchildren: two Siblings: Mable (Don) Bennett and Jim (Maxine) Walker, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by three siblings: Earl Walker, Mae Morrison and Esther Brozovic. The family will receive relatives and friends from 9:30 to 11:00 AM, Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at the Hillis, Combs & Nestor Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, where a Memorial Service will follow at 11:00 AM, with Brent Smith officiating. Ron will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery, Veterans Gardens with Full Military Honors provided by the United States Army, VFW Post 1058, and American Legion Post 29.
