Robert E. Sowers, Sr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Our Father, Robert E. Sowers, Sr., 80 of Zanesville, died, Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at his home. He was born Tuesday, July 1, 1941, in Printer, WV, the son of Robert E Sowers and Laura (Goins) Sowers. Robert worked for Burnham Foundry, the City of Zanesville, Brush Pottery, and retired from the Longaberger Company. He enjoyed gardening and yard work, and was so proud of how he kept his home. Robert also loved to work and detail his automobiles, they were always clean. Robert is survived by nine children: La-Tonya Sowers, Robert E. “Bobby” Sowers, Jr., Shawn (Tonia) Sowers, Shannon Sowers, David Mayle, Christopher Mayle, Dakeyla (David Stigler) Sowers-Mills, Naquita (Brittany Kennedy) Sowers and Keysha Sowers; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; two siblings: Eugene (Clata) Sowers and Wanda Wormley; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by: Rita Diane (Tabler) Sowers; his wife, and love of his life: Lauretta (Mayle) Sowers; one son: Anthony “Ray” Sowers; one grandson: Anthony “Fat Boi” Sowers; infant twin granddaughters: Faith and Hope, and three sisters: Patricia Sowers, Doris Smoot and Maxine Tate, and one brother: James Franklin Sowers. Family and friends may call from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Saturday, February 19, 2022, at the Hillis, Combs & Nestor Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, where a Memorial Service will follow at 1:00 PM.
