Reynold "Rennie" E. Posey Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Reynold “Rennie” Eugene Posey, 88 of Zanesville, Ohio, passed away peacefully, Tuesday January 31, 2017 at Genesis Morrison House Hospice. The family will welcome friends and family on Friday, February 3, 2017 from 6 to 8 PM at Hillis, Combs & Nestor Funeral, 935 Forest Avenue Zanesville, OH. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated 10:30 AM, Saturday, February 4, 2017, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 955 East Main Street Zanesville, with Fr. Martin J. Ralko as Celebrant. Immediately following a “celebration of life” lunch, will be served at the church, where family and friends can reminisce and share memories. Reynold was born August 3, 1928 in Fremont, Ohio and lived all over the United States from Danbury, CT to Long Beach, CA because of his father’s government employment. Reynold graduated from Statesville, NC High School, joined the Army where he was a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne stationed at Fort Bragg and proceeded to go Air Force ROTC to the Georgia Institute of Technology where he graduated with honors in 1952. Reynold was a member of Alpha Tau Omega and Phi Beta Kappa fraternity and was always looking forward to going back to Atlanta to relive his days while at Georgia Tech, especially the “Varsity”. Reynold married the former Mary Angela Coffman on June 26, 1954, Eaton, OH, and was employed by, Chrysler Airtemp, Dayton, OH, where he retired after 25 years and then worked for Gould Industries, McConnellsville, OH and McGraw Edison (Cooper Industries) Zanesville, OH where he was the LMO (last man out) after closing the plant. He remained a consultant for Cooper monitoring, wells, buildings and other assets. Rennie enjoyed just about everything (Life in General) from woodworking, gardening, golf, watching his favorite team on TV (Georgia Tech, OSU, Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lion, Reds, Bengals, Purdue football and especially any Georgia Tech boy on the PGA tour). Rennie even found some extra time to relax and read. Reynold is survived by his wife Angela Posey, Zanesville, OH, his sister Marolyn Joyce Posey (Carlin), Santa Fe, NM. His two sons; Jeffrey Leigh Posey and his wife Susan of Boca Raton, FL, Gregory Alan Posey and his wife Denita of Huntington, WV; Six grandchildren: Carrie Ann Jones, Nashville, TN, Rebecca Lynn Posey, Lewisville, TX, Zachary Posey, Chicago, IL, Tyler Posey, Boca Raton, FL, Kaitlin and Cameron Posey ,both of West Lafayette, IN (Purdue). Two great grandchildren; Cole Jones, Nashville, TN and Madeline Coleman, Lewisville, TX. Reynold was preceded in death by his parents, John Paul Posey, 1971 and Esther Rafferty Posey 2004.
