Lawrence "Bud" R. Mason

February 27, 1935 - March 14, 2022

Lawrence "Bud" R. Mason, 87 of Zanesville, died 11:58 AM, Monday, March 14, 2022, surrounded by his family at Genesis Hospital. He was born Wednesday, February 27, 1935, in Zanesville, the son of Lawrence Mason and Anna (Jasper) Mason. He married the love of his life, Georgianna (Arnold) Mason on Sunday, April 29, 1962, and was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Lawrence served his country as a veteran of the United States Army. He retired from Burnham Boilers following over 36 years of services. He was very active and enjoyed camping and traveling with his wife, and being close to his family. Bud is survived by three children: Bill Mason of Nashport, Michael (Lori) Mason and Deann (Tony) Mercer both of Zanesville; five grandchildren: Joshua Mason, Jennifer (Ian) McKinnon, Christopher Mason, Ashley Mercer and Jenna Mercer and two great grandchildren: Michael and Octavia McKinnon. In addition to his parents, Bud was preceded in death by his wife of over 56 years: Georgianna Mason; two sisters: Phyllis Ryan and Donna Mason. Friends may call from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM, Monday, March 21, 2022, at the Hillis, Combs & Nestor Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue, Zanesville. Funeral Mass will follow at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 925 East Main Street, Zanesville, at 11:00 AM with Fr. Jan C.P. Sullivan as celebrant. Bud will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife in Mt. Olive Cemetery, with the United States Army, VFW Post 1058, and the American Legion Post 29 conducting full military honors.
