Glen D. Sidwell, Jr.

April 23, 1957 - March 20, 2018

Glen D. Sidwell, Jr., age 60 of Zanesville, died 7:45 AM, Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at his home following a long illness. He was born Tuesday, April 23, 1957 in Zanesville, the son of Glen Sidwell, Sr. and Evelyn (Embrey) Bates. He was married on Friday, November 18, 2005 to Lilly (Roehrig) Sidwell who survives. He was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church. Glen served in the United States Marine Corps where he received Medal of Honor for marksmanship. He was a member of the American Legion and Worked as a Respiratory Therapist at Genesis Hospital for 18 years. He was an avid golfer and traveler; He enjoyed following The Ohio State Buckeyes and playing cards. He was proud to be a member of the Masonic Lodge where he was active with his father. He was a loving husband, father, son, grandfather and great-grandfather and friend and will be greatly missed. In addition to his mother: Evelyn (Ken) Bates, Glen is survived by his wife of the home: Lilly Sidwell; children: Tacy Sidwell, Bryan Lane, Ali Helsel, and Lilly Robinson; stepchildren: Amy (Mark) Johnson & Lori Sharrer; grandchildren: Emily Goodrich, Treya MacLean, Laney Johnson & Lyla Johnson; great grandchild: Kaymin Cox; his step-mother: Sonya Sidwell; mother-in-law: Marilyn Jean Anderson; siblings: Vicki Peterson & Gary (Karol) Sidwell; sisters-in-law: Terri Roehrig, Mary (Skip) Young, Brenda (Howard) Morosco and Tracy (Rodney) Postlewait; brothers-in-law: Nelson Roehrig, John Anderson, Jr., & Edward (Penny) Roehrig and step-mother-in-law: Carrie (Bill) Horn; and several cousins, nieces and nephews and his loving dog Daisy. In addition to his father: Glen Dale Sidwell, Sr. Glen was preceded in death by his step-father-in-law: John Anderson; brother-in-law: Dennis Roehrig and his father-in-law: Edward Roehrig Friends may call from 2-4 PM & 6-8 PM on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at the Hillis, Combs & Nestor Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, OH where a Christian Vigil Service will take place at 7:45 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM on Friday, March 23, 2018 at Saint Nicholas Catholic Church 955 Main Street Zanesville OH with Father Martin Ralko officiating. Burial will conclude in the Williams Cemetery Zanesville, with VFW Post 1058, American Legion Post 29 and the United States Marine Corps conduction full military honors.
